pain after surgery help me please

howdy. its 2 weeks and a half since i had surgery. my pain is still intense, really bad. i wonder, how much long will it hurt? i had 60cm removed from my intestine. tell me how long it was before you were pain free. thanks !

I had surgery over a year ago, and it still hurts. But I think mine is due to scar tissue. Crohn's is gone for now though

Matt was uncomfortable and had pain when moving for about three weeks post op, the beginning of week 4 was the turnaround for him. At that point he was able to start moving far more freely. He has had no ongoing pain issues.

During that time he was using Panadol and Endone for pain relief.

i see both your kids have it, thats horrible ! i hope theyre Ok now !

Yeah Dave, we drew short straw there... but they are both in remission and I'm hopin', wishin' and prayin' that it stays that way!

I think it is too soon to worry about pain.
I 've had two surgeries so far and I think you will feel better in a month from surgery.
Hopefully you will feel like far much better three months after surgery, be patient.

Do you have any other new symptoms? Fiver? Blood in stools?

nothing at all, sometimes i sweat when asleep but this has always happened to me

What kind of pain are you talking about? Incisional pain, or deeper, like visceral pain. Is your incision open or closed. Is it red or hot?
After I had my intestines re-sectioned. I had plenty of pain from surgery, but no visceral pain. I could tell quickly after surgery that it was a success because all the "crohns" pain was gone. Wound pain shouldn't be that bad after 2 weeks.
Unless it is open and healing from the inside out. I hope I this helps

Hi there!! Don't worry your not alone!! I had surgery nearly 3 weeks ago. Had ileocecal resection (end of small bowel beginning of colon) and an temp ileostomy!! I had the operation done opened up but that has been stitched up!! Im still in alot of pain it dosnt seem to be the incision site its inside my tummy but feels alot like period pains really achy, stabby n crampy!! If I stand for too long I get back ache and it feels like my tummys realy heavy!! I find my tummys realy painful and stiff in a morning when I first get up! Told the stoma nurse how im feeling and she said to be patient it will take time for the body to recover!! I need to take it steady but with a 2 year old to look after that is hard!! Can't wait to feel better need to get on with my life and get back to work it's been on hold all year!! Damn disease!! Hope your feeling better soon!!

Amylou, That is enough to deal with, and to have a 2 year old also. I hope you have family and friends around to help you. I hope, you a able to get the rest that you need!

Hi Ekay03. Thankfully my partner has been off sick since december last year due to knee injury he had reconstruction in April!! Its not been easy because my problems started at the same time :-( but he has been able to look after our daughter with not working even tho it wasn't easy for him at first with his knee!! So I do manage some rest!! I certainly wont be upset to see this year come to an end it has indeed been awful!!!
