Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced this and can give me some advice. After eating, i get a large hardness on my left side that hurts like hades. Usually after some time, it will dissipate and go away until the next time I eat. I have been to the ER and all they could say was they saw some distention, no blockage and sent me home with some antispasmodics. They also said my wbc was elevated but nothing alarming. I feel like every time I bring this up to the dr, it is disregarded. as of today, I also now have bright green diarrhea and absolutely everything makes me nauseas. The bulk of my Crohn's is in the colon and large intestine..I have been on Humira for almost a year and while it has helped, I still don't feel like I am where I need to be.

Any advice you can give me is welcome, I am at my wits end.

Lisa

How soon after you eat does the pain manifest and how long (seconds? minutes? hours?) does it last? I ask because I also regularly experience left side pain after eating. The sequence of events typically goes:
- eat
- 5 to 10 minutes later: very strong hard tight pain in left side (feels like it's my stomach) that lasts for about 30 seconds. It's a short time, but the pain is excruciating and feels like forever. My stomach/belly is also distended/bloated when this happens
- 1 hour later (occasionally): strong cramping pain in my left belly/torso.

I have a long section of narrowing in my small intestine, which I think causes some of the pain mentioned above, as well as ulceration in my colon. Add the general inflammation/bleeding caused by active Crohn's and it's basically pain and nausea the majority of the day.

With regards to the bright green diarrhea, are you eating things that are green? Or taking iron supplements?

I use to get pain across my middle, behind the belly button. To me it felt like a sausage! After a CT scan they found it was my inflamed colon causing the lump...this led to my colonoscopy and diagnosis. Any immediate change in symptoms or sudden pain should always be taken seriously though so don't ignore it.

I also get pain in my left side when eating, sometimes it starts whilst I am still eating. It usually lasts for a while. I've been told it's because I get constipated, due to a narrowing in my small intestine. Apparently things can't pass through properly so I have to take Fybogel to help. This has helped me a little, but I do still get pain with food
