Pain movement at stoma site with jpouch.

Ok so I had my ileostomy takedown 3 months ago. I'm feeling like a ball and some movement the stoma site with sore feeling. But when I tough it from the outside I don't really feel a ball just scar tissue also in my jpouch I feel constant cramping at all times. Only way to get rid of it is strong pain meds. Is this normal?? Sorry I'm on cell typing if this comes out wrong but I hope u get it.

Hello Maria,
Congratulations on your takedown surgery. Do you have a fever with your pain? You may have developed an infection and may need some antibiotics. I highly suggest you call your physician and make sure you let him know how much pain you are in. Also, is this pain new? Or has it been constant since your takedown surgery?
I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you Judith for responding. Sometimes I do feel a temperature. I didn't think of infection. This pain comes and goes since surgery but is getting worse and the ball thing I can feel it strongly when I push to like pass gas or whatever and I feel tons of pressure at stoma site<< sorry for being so graphic It's so hard because the only Dr I can see regarding these issues is over 200 miles aways. I'd have to drive there so it's hard. But if it's an infection maybe my primary Dr can prescribe some antibiotics. Def worth a shot to try out.
I would like to add for those getting takedown don't let this scare you off. I'm truly happy to have done the takedown and it's been 3 months since takedown so as of right now I truly do not regret getting my takedown. Godbless you all xoxo:heart:

It may be a hernia as well...you should definitely get in to see a doctor and get it sorted out. You likely shouldn't be having a lot of pain after 3 months.

If you are just now having the pain I would think if you had an infection it would have been something festering since takedown chances are you would have saw and indicator prior to now. I would be concerned with a possible adhesion causing a partial blockage at the ileostomy anastomosis site which is very common. The doctor should be able to order a fluoroscopy upper GI with small bowel follow through to determine if the is a bottle necking going on at that site, either by a barium swallow or enema. I hope you are feeling better. Also you should be able to get this done at your local hospital so you don't have to travel so far. Keep us posted.
