Pain not related to food?

I see a lot of people cut out certain trigger foods, but does anyone have pain for seemingly no reason at all? The weird thing is that sometimes my abdomen hurts when I drink, whether it's water, gatorade, coffee, etc. Immediately after I drink. And I know it's not my stomach because it's high up and on the left where my pain is down low and on the right. No food seems to make it better or worse, it happens whether I have gas or not, constipated or having diarrhea, etc. I've even tried not eating or drinking and it still hurts sometimes, especially if I move in a certain way, like any twisting in my abdomen or bending over far. However, it doesn't hurt every time I do those movements, it just seems to make it hurt if it's already going to hurt, if that makes sense.

And it usually only happens in the one exact spot, an inch to the right of my bellybutton, a stabbing pain. But now, it's been happening about 2 inches to up/left diagonally from my bellybutton, too.

Does this type of pain sound familiar to anyone?

Yes it did or has on me. IN my earlier diagnosis no matter what I ate or drank. Also many can have a spastic colon, along with IBD. Some even still have pain whilst prepping and no food in there. Everyone is different though. When was your last test or scope?

I haven't had any tests yet. I am making myself appointments soon, though. Last time I went to the doctor for my abdominal pain they just told me to try tums and sent me on my way without running a blood test or even checking for tenderness or anything. But I am hopefully going to be getting better care at this new clinic.

Yes, I've been frustrated after months of watching what I ate, without provocation, I would experience a cramping feeling across that region; although I wouldn't associate my feelings with drinking anything. I do think that there is an immunal response that can cause such feelings--seemingly regardless of diet. However, this has only happened to me a few times. Usually, I seem to be far down a long road of missteps which are just waiting for something--no matter how innocuous--to trigger or tip the scales and allow crohn's to rear its head (like drinking caffeine, alcohol, or eating sugars more and more over a period of time).

Othertimes, I have caused an instant cramping episode directly from drinking a liquid but caffeine was the culprit. Other substances may ilicit that "emptying" response, if that makes sense. At times, I think there is an immediate, triggering connection between the contents in the stomach which may tell the body further down the line it's time to make room, so to speak.

Could be a stricture or colon spasms, I would often have pain right after eating or drinking or sometimes just on a whim... The majority of your digestive tract is moving at all times, it is called peristalsis, so swallowing anything will trigger the movements and then can trigger the pain. This smooth muscle contraction starts in your esophagus and all the way through your small intestine.
I was told I have IBS along with my Crohn's (which I have in both small and large intestine) and the pain was most likely from muscle spasms. My GI gave me Hyomax, which is supposed to be a muscle relaxer for your intestines but it didn't do a whole lot for me. What did work was smaller meals, and staying away from things with lots of fiber and anything with nuts or seeds unless they get chewed to death. And no popcorn. Ever again.

Yes I too have this problem and also have been told that I have ibs along w/ crohns. I have found that when do eat it is small meals. 1/2 a sandwich or have portion of whatever I am eating. eating much smaller meals is the only thing that I have found to work.
