That is SO going to be under the Christmas tree this year!!! I've never heard of it before. At our Children's Hospital for IV's they have some little contraption that blows a quick burst of air on the skin while the IV needle is put in. My son didn't feel a thing. I wonder if it's the same premise of distraction and confusing the nerves?

For blood draws we've been doing the numbing creme, but it takes sooo long to work. It's especially hard when we're there just for a blood draw and have to wait. Do you think it works for blood draws as well?

Thanks for the info xmdmom!

Thanks for sharing.....my son hates all that mess and we have to tackle him down for injections. Yay!

When I practiced (pediatrics), the thing I hated most was drawing blood and putting in IVs in small children! People go into pediatrics because they love children and end up having to hurt them....

hi yes it works for bloods if u use the ice packs it reduces pain by 60 percent its brilliant . lewis loves his and if a 6 year old needle phobic says it works its good enought for klme . ask at ur loxal hospital if they wwouldbtrial it before u buy they would have to pay foe the buzzy though my hospital did .xx

We have one for use at the hospital I work at but I've never seen it used. For dd the anticipation is worse that the needle lol! We aren't a fan of Emela either...Mehita that sounds neat!
