Hi Guys,
This is my first time reaching out to anyone other than a doctor for help so i
Anyway i was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 13 and then Crohn's diseasehope this works ha. at 16. Long story short my crohn's started getting really bad after i developed perianal fistulas and about a year later it became extremely painful to have sex and had to stop completely. My crohn's kept on getting worse so my doctors thought that having surgery for an ileostomy would help and would also help me get my sex life back. It has now been almost 3 years since my surgery and i still can not have sex without excruciating PAIN but my crohn's is a lot better than before not all the way better though.
I am too young to not have sex i'm only 22 years old i haven't even had babies of my own and my boyfriend just left me. Please are there any other woman out there dealing with my same issue?? if so how did you fix it or what are you doing to fix it?? PLEASE Helppppp!

p.s. no i don't have vaginal fistulas the doctor's already checked.

thank you....

Have you been checked for any issues that aren't Crohn's? I had endometriosis and even wearing a tampon was painful. It was a fairly simple surgery to fix things. They had to do an internal ultrasound to find the problem. It was painful but completely worth it. I hadn't had sex before I was diagnosed but if a tampon was painful, I can't imagine how sex would have felt.

Are you in a current flare? If so, that could also be the case of at least some of the pain. I know that when I'm flaring I burn a lot easier than when I'm not. I do agree with Sara though, it might be a good time to check with an OBGYN to make sure it's not female related.

I never even thought about endometriosis i figured i was too young for that. I just researched it and I'm going to ask my doctor I hope I find a solution....I want some normalcy back in my life... thanks ladies I appreciate your input.

Endometriosis is more common in women with CD and it's worth it for any ciswoman with Crohn's to keep a watch for it.

Hi there,
Just stumbled on this post but wondering how you are doing? I know it's all so very overwhelming when this all starts.
I have a blog and talk about my experiences with abscess/fistula, please stop by and check out the archive, my earlier posts have some tips.

Oh you poor thing,
I was looking for any answers on this exact subject as it too am going through the same thing. Sex has been getting more and more sore, then painful over the last year, but the past 4 months I couldn't even bare trying! It's awful, so so painful. I was in flare in Aug, I'm not completely out of it yet so that's probably something to do with it, although before that they were looking into more the dermatological side of things. I'm yet to go back as I hate dealing with more than one thing at a time- I've also had a smear test pending for the last 15 months (not smart I know)

For a little light, it has been known to come and go. I've had months of pain free/almost pain free sex, and then a burst of agony. There's stuff your doctor can prescribe though, some numbing gel might help a little, but definitely get to the bottom of it. If you know whether it's to do with a flare then that's one thing, if not then there's amazing treatments for every kind of dysfunction down there. It's a woman thing, and women sort us out!
Really hope you're okay though, and if your boyfriend has broken up with you over that it only shows his weak colours and gives you a quick escape from a shallow fool.

Xxx

Having an understanding SO really helps in the sex dept! My hubby has been fine with BJ's since all of my issues started. And, I agree, external toys (like a silver bullet type toy) can do wonders! Especially for stress. But, for me, occasionally, an orgasm will bring on some moderate lower abdominal cramping. Good luck!
