I believe that I have been going thru my first flare up since my diagnosis about 1 1/2 years ago. I have missed work all week and am confined to laying on the couch as it is painful to sit, stand, or do anything for a length of time. My health has been tolerable or bad for the past few months, but this week has been especially bad. I believe the real pain and suffering started when I took an Imodium on Monday. If I make one more run to the bathroom, I will scream! I will see the nurse practitioner tomorrow, but I am seeking advice on how to slow the D and reduce the pain in my poor rear end. Any ideas? I have also been taking Celexa for the past month or two and really hope it isn't hurting my tummy. Overall, my diet has been pretty good. :poo:

I'm sorry you feel so poorly. Let us know how your appointment goes.

Be careful with Immodium...too much use can do more harm than good to some people and aggravate the digestive system as well as cause long-term disruption of your normal bowel routine. I would recommend adjusting your diet. Try a BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) if you can tolerate it. Those are soft, binding foods. Consider other soft, bland foods as well like mashed potatoes.
