Pinpoint Ulcer

Advice needed here ... If anyone has any!

Pretty sure my pinpoint ulcer small intestine is causing me to be sore and uncomfortable. Saw my GI doc yesterday. Our plan is to get to the bottom of why I'm feeling like crap and he suggested that it may not even be my Crohn's right now, but IBS or possibly the ulcer.

I'm currently on 40 MG of prednisone reducing the flare ... But man. There is ONE spot around my belly button that is bugging me like crazy, right where the ulcer is ... Should I contact my GI about this or my general doc? It just doesn't feel right ... Its so hard to know what I am feeling and what is oberlapping with what ...

Any advice would be wonderous! Anything I can do on my own?

Hey Ness,

No personal experience as such but my son's pain, he also has ileal Crohn's, when he was flaring was always around his navel. How long have you been on the Pred? Maybe it hasn't kicked in yet?

Just as a side note: Pred didn't work for my son. I mean I think it did stabilise his condition somewhat but it was no wonder drug and he did develop complications whilst on it, not from the Pred but from the Crohn's.

prednisone and ulcers dont really go the pred can cause further new ulcers and cause old ones to grow bigger and irritate them...

to avoid this problem eat a large amount of food before taking the prednisone

if this dosent help after a couple of days there are further medications your doctor can prescribe to treat the ulcers seperate...
