Greetings and welcome!

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble :( That must be absolutely terrible. Some questions for you:

1. Do you have any abdominal pain? If so, where specifically in your abdomen?
2. Is this the first time this has happened to you?
3. Do you have anyone in your family with any form of IBD like Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis?
4. Have you experienced any weight loss?
5. Do you have any other symptoms other than the gastrointestinal issues? Like rashes, sores, tingling, etc.
6. Have you been to your doctor? If so, what did they say and what tests did they perform? And were any abnormal?
7. When you say, "for weeks now", how many weeks?

A lot of questions, I know :) But that will give us a little more to go on.

1. my lower abdomen
2. i used to have problems with it around my period, but yes
3. no family history
4. i've lost about eight pounds
5. my hands get tingly
6. scared of tests they will give at the doctor.
7. since the twenty eighth

Hi again,

It MAY be Crohn's Disease but there are a whole host of other potential causes as well. I understand you're scared of the tests that they're going to perform at the doctor's office, but we're happy to try to help alleviate those fears. Which specific tests are you scared of and what scares you about them?

a colonoscopy. and i'm scared of the prep work. and also i am really scared of throwing up, so i also don't want tubes down my throat.

I had two colonoscopy done ill do thoses over a cat scan any day. They made me drink some stuff to cleanse the bowl the night before.they put me to sleep and used a tiny scope to look around woke up like nothing happen. Hope all goes well. :)

I was really scared before I had my first colonoscopy as well. Call me crazy, but I found the prep to be fun in a really strange way. Most will of course say that it is the worst part of the colonoscopy. Beyond that, it's mostly a cakewalk. I was a little anxious going in, but the sedation itself is not problem and then you remember nothing until you start to wake up.

Do you have someone that you trust who helps you stay calm that could go with you?

At this point, another colonoscopy wouldn't phase me :)

If you look around this site, there's a lot of talk of colonoscopy. Look around, use our search button and the top, and read about others' experiences. And we're happy to answer any questions.

Some of this stuff is scary but they really need to figure out what's going on with you.

*hugs*

For my first colonoscopy I made an event out of it! I set up my laptop, got some candles going and chilled on the toliet for hours, lol. Ask your Dr about the ibd serrology 7 bloodtest. It has markers that people with cd have a higher number on

Hi there , I just had a Colonoscopy on Friday last . To be honest the prep was ok and this time i had Picolax . This is a much easier laxitive to take than one I had in the past and is definitly not as severe. There is no nausea with these drinks that ive ever encountered and ive had four colonoscopies.
The colonoscopy itself is nothing to worry about , besides you will be sedated and will remember nothing. When you wake you will have slight windy or crampy feeling which will pass but apart from that you will feel really no diferent.
If you are concerned you should definetly get this done as it will rule out any issues and give you peace of mind.
I had mine on friday and i was working on monday .
Good luck
Peter,.
