Does anyone have crohns in the colon very similar symptoms to colitis? but my doctor assures me its crohns. I was diagnosed in 2000. The best treatment that put me in remission was Humira for about 5 years I was doing well but it stopped working for me. Ever since then I've had nothing but problems and I was put on Stelara for a few months til I found my next treatment... Stelara seemed to work but my Doctor was very positive I would do well on Entyvio. And so I went on Entyvio but things got worse fast. The past 7 months I've been bleeding quite a bit from the ulcers and strictures in my colon. We came to the conclusion Entyvio was not working for me. I saw a surgeon 3 weeks ago and my only option surgery wise is to get an Ileostomy and I really don't want to get this procedure done, I'm only 36 years old and want to hold off as much as possible. I discussed with my doctor and I am currently back on stelara, this has been my 2nd week on the drug and have noticed a difference by having somewhat more control of my bowel movements and I go to the bathroom 2 to 5 times compared to 20 to 30 times. But my biggest issue is the blood that I pass still, sometimes it's really red other times it's pinkish. It's not a lot like pools of blood, but it's about a spoon full and it's dicouraging to see and wipe everyday. Seeking advice or feedback. How can I stop the bleeding?

Hi im glad the stelara seems to be helping again. Iv not had any bleeding re my crohns. Im guess that it may take a while longer for the med to control that.please speak with your doc and check with him/her. Best wishes đź’•

Hello and welcome.I bleed a lot when in a flare which indicates inflammation for me.
But it can also be due to Hemoriods, (spl?)either internal or external. They are very common for those of us who are constantly in the bathroom.Because it's red blood and not dark coloured it indicates either hemmys or inflammation in the large colon or sigmoid area.
Call your Doctor. let's know how you get on.Best wishes.

Hi! I have Crohn's colitis which presents like UC in symptoms. I'm struggling to get it under control at the moment and, like you, I will be aiming to try every drug in the book before resorting to surgery as my problem area is rectal and I don't think there's much success in re-plumbing there if it's Crohn's rather than UC.

Have you tried Remicade? If you have a good old browse around this forum you'll find all sorts of potential treatments to try before surgery. Do you have a good relationship with your doctor?

I agree with scottsma. Let us know how you are doing. Best to you. I also have Crohn's Colitis.
