post ileostamy reversal

Hey guys, no doubt this has been discussed before but im just curious as too how long after the op, going to the toilet constantly and loosely carries on?
Im sure its diffferent per person, i had 7 feet of my small bowel and two 10cm sections of my large bowel removed. If anybody has had a similar amount i would love to know!
Cheers Dylan

No ileostomy here...But I had part of my terminal ileum remove during resection...I think the diarrhea was worse post-op. The ileum is where bile is absorbed. I ended up with bile salts diarrhea. That's pretty typical afterwards from what I gather.

I had a resection and then a week later because of complications had an emergency sugery and woke up with an ileostomy. I had it for 5 weeks and then had the reversal. My healing was far from the norm. I complained about pain and stayed away from so many types of food. For the amount of times I had to go varied because I would not be able to eat a lot from not feeling well. When I did eat it was basic basic foods. The urgency to constantly go seemed to ease up a bit but never went back to normal. And the 5 weeks after the reversal I had an abcess form at the surgery site.
I had the ileostomy for only 5 weeks and had a lot of complications before and after. I am sorry I am not much help but you should start to see some improvement within a few weeks depending on your current condition and how long you had the ileostomy for.

Thanks guys all is slowly getting better but just happy to be without the bag and healthy free of the disease for the time being.(touch wood)
