I am curious if anyone has sensations in the area of prior resection surgery?

I have no symptoms other than on occasion I can feel slight sensations where my stricture was removed. I am not sure if this is a normal thing due to scar tissue or if it means something less desirable is going on. It is very slight and not painful, but I can feel it from time to time. I am going to ask my doctor about it, but I thought I would ask here first, since I do not always get satisfactory answers from medical professionals. And I generally have a mistrust of doctors due to so many bad experiences.

The really good thing is I no longer get any sensation in my Terminal Ilium area, which I was more worried about. I am sure that was due to some irritation that was not surgically related.

Any thoughts?

I do occasionally get 'sensations' there. I have 'assumed' these were simply due to the formation of scar tissue (or possibly 'adhesions'). I know what they say about 'assuming'... but in this case, I'd rather sleep with my assumptions than lose sleep conjuring up other 'possibilities'.. If they were to worsen, etc., then I'd raise it with my GI.. Like, I've got enuff trouble, I'm deliberately turning a blind eye to this (for the time being). Figure I'd let 'sleeping' scars lie (lay) ;-)

i had a temp. ileostomy for about 6 months, and here 6 years later, i still sometimes feel my stoma expelling food stuff, and i look down, and its just a scar, lol. it sometimes so real i fully expect to see a bag down there.

Yeah, that reminded me of my uncle.. lost a leg in the war. Decades later it still itched... something which amazed us as kids. And pretty much drove him crazy.

i think its pretty common for scar tissue to feel odd for years after surgery, possibly even for ever. my last op was in '97, and even now i get the occasional twinge, or funny numb feeling, and if i'm cold it aches. maybe its just nerve damage.. maybe the nerves dont ever knit together quite perfectly after being cut....?
