I was wondering if anyone on a combination of pred and 6mp has had the symptom of upper back pain? My son has complained of this for the past two days and several of the people I work with have had that symptom when they were having gallbladder pain. So I am concerned we may have a new problem to deal with, he has had pancreatitis from the 6mp in the past but no pain because he also had a kidney stone at the time. Any info would be appreciated!

I would make sure he doesn't have another kidney stone first...as they are a known problem with Crohns' patients.....how long ago was his last one? I had a few years between my bouts - but now get checked once a year for any more forming....

well it has been a couple of years since his last kidney stone but this pain is up high like middle of ribs and up to shoulders. Kidney stone was my first thought too but this pain isn't the same as kidney stone pain.

I would still get that checked out - my kidney stone pain started with pain around the back moving to the front - YET my Mom's started with abdominal pain and symptoms of a UTI....totally different presentations.....could be referred pain....

Maybe if you can get an ultrasound done to check both? If the pain persists I wouldn't wait too long before seeing a doctor.

oh - and is it constant pain or comes and goes? I sometimes get a pain up under my ribcage and across my body (especially after eating certain foods!)....haven't had it enough to get it checked out though.....wouldn't be surprised if it was my gallbladder...

well it started yesterday and I don't think it completely stopped just went down on the pain scale and as the day has gone on has gone up on the pain scale. Will probably go to the doctor after school if he makes it thru school :(
