Do you think it would be okay to use a tanning bed while on pred? I know it says avoid extreme exposure to sun but just starting out you only go in for 5 mins so you don't burn and I'm hoping I will taper soon!

I would not risk it at all! My skin went pretty horrific on one holiday in Spain and I don't even like sunbathing. Saying that, you wouldn't catch me on a tanning bed anyway. I think they are too dangerous as it is.

sun is dangerous, my doc always tells me especially when you are on meds-watch out!

my docs have said to stay out of sun or to use very high sun screen if I have to be in it.

I wouldn't do it if I were you. I have been told by doctors and by the print on many medications to avoid exposure to sun. I can't imagine that this would be good for you. How about a spray tan? There are many places that do an excellent job and wont make you look orange. Just something to consider.

Pred did make me sensitive to the sun - I even got rashes from just a little bit of sun exposure. I think tanning beds are dangerous as well. I just wouldn't do it.
