Got a quick question I hope you can help with.

Been on pred since 18th may @60mg, now down to 30mg from today. Moving down 5mg per week now. At first I didn't notice very many side effects but as times going on, it seems the longer I'm on them the more side effects I'm getting. Is this normal?

I have the normal increased appetite, moon face, sweaty, shaky/jittery but the most recent one that's bothering me is tingling? Started in my lips and now I can feel it in my feet and hands and it's starting to realy worry me. Has anyone else had this?? I'm also on adalimumab and now concerned its this that could be causin ms like symptoms! I really hope it's just the pred tho.

Thanks in advance.

Those side effects are very common with prednisone. Although I don't think that tingling sensations are listed as a side effect of prednisone, I have heard people talking about having this symptom as well.

If it gets worse or it really starts to bother you, I'd give your doctor a call to check.

The longer you are on steroids the more damage it can wreck on the body. You were also on a high dose and unfortunately it can take several months to fully have the effects go away and sometimes bone damage never reverses. Best of luck in tapering.

I was on predisone for 2-3 months . I felt fine the first month this i got moon face, buffalo neck, sweating, insomnia, manic(hyper),etc. I had to come off of it because i started getting cushings symptoms. Look it up cushings. Never had the tingling though.

Lots of people said to me when tapering things tend to get worse.

My moods are a load better but the night sweats, hunger have all certainly increased since I started the taper.

Was on 30mg for 2 weeks before tapering, last day of 20mg today so 15mg tomorrow and finish in 15 days.

Can't wait to get off them!

mum22boys, i have these symptoms from steriods too, had numb/tingling lips and hands for the past month, feel sleepy a lot too and generally spaced out. x

I also take Prednisone, it Depletes Potassium, Vitamin B6 & Calcium & many other minerals from your body, the Tingling You Described Sounds Like Low Calcium, You can Look it Up, The Tingling Sensation is usually around your lip and mouth area. I hope this helps. Take Some Calcium & See If That Doesn't Help....
