Hi , it's me again,
Im currently having a flare up which has been goin on since about the 12th Jan, I was in hospital with it for 5 days with pain and very bloody D and nausea whilst in hospital i was given a course of Metronidazole, i was then released from hospital had a week off work to rest and things slowly started to improve. the bloody D stopped and was having normal BM's but was still getting pain (all this time im taking my asacol 4800mg, 30mg Pred and pred foam enema's) i've been getting by taking trammadol and paracetamol for pain. But these last 3 days the bloody D is back and just as bad as it was in hospital, im getting the abdominal pain again, im not nausea's though.i spoke to meds (Isle of Man out of hours doctors service) and was recommended to take 40mg Pred which ihave been doing, I've spoken to my GI and he said he can't do anything till i have my colonoscopy on the 16th Feb and just keep taking the Pred at 40mg. I was sent home from work today because couldn't move from the toilet and was taking the trammadol which make me quite drowsy and as i work in healthcare i really need to be on the ball. So my question is : isn't the pred supposed to get rid of this inflammation, i mean im getting all these not very nice pred side affects and seeing none of the benefit, I thought after 3 weeks the inflamation should be going. I am currently (last week) been on a low residue diet, is it possible that this is making it worse ? :sign0085:
