Question about a fistula

I've had a fistula for a long time and 2 years ago I had a seton put in. Not much happened but in August while on holiday it started draining pus and was painful. It eased after a couple of days and that was it. But yesterday it started doing the same again. The area around it is swollen and very tender, and it is draining a lot of pus. I've had to buy some gauze to absorb the nastiness coming out.

I'm not sure if I should see a doctor or go to the hospital, or just wait until Monday and go to my GP. Has anyone had any experience of this and what did you do? Thank you!

I think you need to be seen by a doctor pretty quickly. Let us know how you are.

I agree on being seen, the symptoms you describe sound like an infection is brewing, which needs to be taken care of sooner rather than waiting.....
