Question about Humira Schedules

Hi everyone,

I take my Humira injections every two weeks on Wednesdays. I use to take them between 9am to 2pm since I started in 2019. I'm due for my next injection this Wednesday but I will be out of town (my father passed so Humira wasn't on my mind when I packed in a rush to get to my family). I come back late Thursday evening. Do you guys think that is okay to take Humira one day late? Also since I started working again (I'm a first year Kindergarten teacher!) I was thinking of taking my Humira injections right before I leave for work on those Wednesdays I'm due for one because the past few months I have been taking them late in the evening on those Wednesdays.

I just don't want to be messing myself up and get a flare up just because of timing, you know? I don't even know how much timing matters.

Thanks,

Miriam

By all means take the dose. It's much better to take it one day late than not take it at all. Just take it when you get back and and then go back to your regular schedule. I doubt you will notice any difference.

And as for what time of day to take it, do whatever fits your schedule. I'm pretty sure the timing of these things is flexible enough to accommodate shifts of a few hours. Human behavior being what it is, I don't think the timing employed in the clinical trials that determined the proper dosing was that tightly controlled.

My kiddo was on humira for over 5 years
Sometimes docs would have him move it by a day or insurance/shipping issues etc..
So really just take it on Thursday
Not an issue
Time of day - we just try to get his injection in sometime during that day
He is on Stelara now
So varying the time within 24 hours or so has always been fine for him
Good luck

Thanks for replying Scipio, I will definitely be taking it as soon as I can.

Thanks for replying my little penguin. Yes, it is reassuring to hear this because I really was worried. The last thing I need right now is a flare up.

Taking humira at any time of the day should be fine, you are adding more stress by thinking too much about this. One day early or late should not be much of a problem either. Follow your GI specialists advice and see them regularly. All the best.

So sorry to hear about your dad passing.
I have been on humira for 11 years and I don’t take it the same time each injection. For example I take mine wednesdays too but I take it sometimes in the morning or after noon and sometimes evenings.
yes, take it a day late, my dr us always given me the ok for that.
