I will be having my 11th Remicade infusion next week and I had a question. I was wondering why sometimes after an infusion I feel AWESOME and for weeks to come I feel so healthy and good. And other times I feel awful for about 2 or 3 days (wiped out feeling, muscle pain everywhere..etc). After those few days, I do get way better but I just wondered if someone had any insight on this. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments. Have a super day :)

Watch the times for each change in the amount that they are giving you. Maybe write down the amount and make sure the 15 minute intervals are the same each time. Just an idea.

I find that if the infusion is rushed, I take about a week to get over it and I notice my energy is low for a long time. The first few were slow and I only felt crappy for a day or two and then I had a lot of energy.

I am actually going to complain when I book my next appointment. My appointments have been booked lately so that there is not time to do the infusion slowly before the clinic closes.

Most of them are slow because my blood pressure drops but the last one was a normal drip rate and I felt so good afterwards. Also something I did different last time........I drank tons of liquids before my infusion. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

With the heat in Staint Louis you need to drink a lot (water). I used to have a problem with my blood pressure dropping and the nurse would always have me drink a bunch of water to get it up to my normal blood pressure. Since they stuck me 13 time to get the IV started I do not drink coffee and drink lots of water before my infusion. I do bring my coffee with me but do not drink until IV is in. It sounds like you need to drink a lot of water for your infusion. Try starting the night before and again when you wake up. I hope it works for you. You do not need the PAIN. This CD is pain enough. I do agree with your quote from Proverbs, it really helps.:highfive:
