I was thinkin about it today. Of course we all throw up with crohns and UC. But I was wondering how many of you also throw up because the cramps are so friggin bad? I remember having to explain to dr's and my parents that it wasn't because I was nauseated but because the pain was so bad that I have to throw up. Strange question but I was just curious.

Yes!! I feel like the pain causes me to be nauseous a lot... And occasionally throw up because it gets so bad. It's not a normal "sick" type of nauseous.. If that makes sense. Zofran still helps on really bad days. Besides helping with the nausea, I feel like it relaxes my stomach a little. Donnatal works well for horrible cramps too... But it is too sedating for me if I have to work or drive.

I've never thrown up due to pain, but I have passed out because of it. I do not throw up often - maybe once a year or less. It just doesn't happen - even if I had a stomach virus that made everyone else around vomit constantly, I likely wouldn't have that symptom.

OMG when I get a severe flare the pain and cramps are so intense I throw up ! Even dry heave! Now that I know what brings this on if this ever happens again I will stay in the ER until my GI admits me! I am the whole week recovering. Haven't experienced this intense a flare since going on Prednisone, changing my diet and starting Humira.
