Hi Everyone,
I'm in a bit of a worried state. A few days ago I noticed a swollen lymph node under my armpit. I had a swollen node before but it was from shaving. This one I have no idea the reason, I'm not sick, no infection, no shaving, so I'm worried since I take humira and I know it raises my risk of lymphoma. The node feels soft, moveable, sometimes easy to find and sometimes it takes a bit, no pain. I made a dr appt for next week to get it checked out. Ugh! What a way to end the year.

First, take a deep breath and try not to over analyze things.....

It could be a low grade infection somewhere, or just a node that decided to swell....my Mom had an issue a few years ago with swollen lymph nodes - multiples - and even had an exploratory surgery but EVERYTHING came back NEGATIVE as far as testing for infection, cancer etc....still no idea why she had the swollen nodes, but the did go away eventually.

For your doctors appointment, I would take notes up to the visit, checking to see if it changes at all, larger/smaller, painful or not etc....this will give a baseline to compare to...

Best of luck!!!

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I have been taking notes. It seems to sometimes be closer to the skin and sometimes deeper. Doesn't seem to change in size. It's not painful. I could of seen another dr sooner, but the dr I'm seeing next week is so nice and dealt with the swollen node 2 years ago.

Oh ok. It's a swollen lymph node in my armpit. Very strange that sometimes it feels right at the surface of the skin and other times it seems deep.

Thanks Ron. Last time I had to go for ultrasound and the results came in within a day or so. I wasn't that worried that time since I was sure it was from shaving but wanted to make sure. This time is worrisome because I have no idea what's causing it, so of course the mind goes wild.

My husband had a few that did that and had them removed and biopsied. Nothing, notta...I agree with Lisa, try not to overthink it. Believe it or not, even a hair follicle can cause this. Prayers that all is well!

Update: I went to the dr, she could not feel the lymph node at all so said there isn't anything to worry about. So that was good news. Coincidence, I'm also in a small flare right now too.
