help. ... trying to work out if these are side effects of my drugs, 6x400 mg asacol and pred i get flu like symtoms sore throat itchy skin tingling fingers and toes constapation shaky feeling and worry. or is that just me. was told i had crohns in 1983 been ok with it off and on was told by the hospital 4 yrs ago that i did not have to come back or take my meds but just recently i started getting the symtoms again cramps blood in poo and pain so went back on the drugs

how long have you been taking prednisone and asacol? what is your dosage of prednisone? are you in a taper right now?

two weeks pred slowly cuting baxk by 5mg a week down to 55 mg a day but the affects started a few days after i started back on the asacol 2400 mg a day

My first instinct was that either the prednisone was causing your symptoms or the medication isn't strong enough and you are still experiencing symptoms of a flare. However, I would recommend you discuss this with your doctor so that the matter can be properly addressed.

i would be inclined to say the preds are causing the side effects as its not uncommon and i dont think 55mg on a taper isnt strong enough. it seems like a reasonable dosage for the beginning of a cycle
