hi everybody! Im very recently diagnosed with crohns, and stomach ulcers. I have been on meds. feeling better lately but had a few bad days! just wondering if anyone has any "definate" trigger foods. I realize everyone is different but just wondering. Does everyone eat normally when they are not in a relapse? or just when you are hurting do you modify your diet? I avoid corn, coffee, and recently chocolate. Does anyone have a reaction to sugar? Does anyone know why we shouldnt drink alcohol? thanks:):)

Hi I've found that the list of things that bother my gut has gotten longer. Mine seems to be greasy foods and beef, but I seem to be doing pretty well this fall hoping it stays this way. I started on Humira mid summer and am keeping my fingers crossed that I stay in remission this time.:)

i have recently learned that coffee is a nightmare for me and i also stay away from any kind of vegetables, greasy foods, some fruits, especially citrus fruits, nuts, eggs, pizza, anything salty. These foods bother even when i'm not flaring up

Hi there. I'm from Toronto! And also newly diagnosed. Weaning of pred, waiting to see if I am too start Imuran. They say I have Crohns in my terminal ilium section. In any case, I too have have the same questions and for me I have found I can not eat fruit fruits, raw veggoes. AND for the past almost R weeks I have tried going gluten free. I have to say for me going gluten free made a huge difference with pain and flares. I just found this forum yesterday and its been soo helpful!

welcome to the new ones. it has been a little while since I have been on.. this forum is surely a blessing. I don't have Crohns; my daughter does; so this fourm helped me learn so much.. and one thing you will find; is that almost everyone is different; everyone has their own foods that bother them one way or the other; there are so many different stories; some people that took a long time to get diagnosed and then some; diagnosed quickly.
this forum will help you alot for sure.. hang in there...and I hope things get better for ya'll
