Been on questran now for a few days along with stopping lansoperazole as instructed by my gi, he was hoping it would slow down output but no such luck! But on the plus side ive had a nice thick formed motion this morning from the tail end! A lot bigger on diameter than before I was defunctioned so hopefully that's a sign that the rectum is less inflamed etc so waiting to see next week where we go next to try and keep magnesium in my body. It's so strange that I had the magnesium problem with my ileo as I have now with the colostomy yet the 5 weeks I was reconnected in between my magnesium stayed stable, everyone is at a total loss to the reason this is happening as I still have a lot of small bowel and all my large. Sorry for moaning but I am ready for a nut house with this I have no quality of life in fact I'd go as far as say I'd rather suffer with the fistulas and perianal disease that I've put up with for the past 20yrs.

I am sorry to hear you are still having problems Ryan. I had all my colon removed because the whole thing was diseased. I still have the rectum etc which has flared since the colectomy last year. I have had 3 dates, so far, for it to be removed and all cancelled by the hospital. So I know how it feels to go through all that surgery and still have problems. I am still running the loo passing blood/ mucus all through the day, even though I am have nothing plumbed in!!!!

I presume they have checked your colon is not causing this? I am not medical and sorry if this is a silly question.

Thinking of you xxx

Yes I have no active disease at all so it's a mystery but as I'm sure you know, when things don't work right it really gets you down.

It is my hope that your GI will look further afield for help in your case. Like Mayo or something. Has he asked other Dr's?

When they are stumped, (which they admit they are), they need to look for outside help.

Yes he has admitted he is stumped which to be fair doesn't happen to him very often, he's a Wylie old fox lol
