Hey I have a question about how you like colon cleanser from GNC. I bought it a while back but never really took it up until now and I feel like I am having better formed stool. I just wanted to know how you view the product. Thanks

I'm not GNC man and not trying to hi-jack his forum, but if I may say something I always red that colon cleansers were bad for you. If I remember right I read it in a book which I can later go and copy the excerpt out of.

But thats great that it worked for you. I see the "dr" on tv advertising the colon cleanser on late night info-mercials. It makes sense what he says about the fats and such sticking to the sides of yoru colon walls, which in turn doesnt allow you to absorb the correct nutrients and such, not to mention probably adds wait. I think they were saying that people wre losing like 10 pounds by using it once!

The thing is that to me it really is not a colon cleanser. It is a probioticwith some herbs in it and other things, I will check in the morning. But the total effect at first is that of a colon cleanser but after taking it for a few days the effect of immediate removal of waste stops and you just get nice looking BM's but I just wanted to check with Daniel about the stuff to see if I should continue taking the stuff.

Normalle I would agree with you skinsfan because I never take colon cleansers because most of them are made artificially but I do not think that this is like that.

Thanks

Well....now I can understand why you would have normal bowel movements. IF you did have say fat and such attached to the walls of your intestines, or colon and the colon cleanser cleaned it out the first few days I'm sure it wouldnt be pretty, BUT after that, the 'fat' or whatever you had would be gone, leaving you with 'normal' BM's?

Sounds logical, just gotta wonder how save it is, FDA doesnt regulated that sort of thing.

One day I may buy a lot of herbs, dry them out and then chop them up very finely in a food grinder or something. THen I will add it to my food and see if I get the same results. It would be very interesting at least and it would be safe due to the use of only herbs and nothing that is not found in nature. I should try it soon. If anyone else wants to try and maybe give me some feedback maybe we could help with a whole new type of diet or something.

I need to check my form more often :)... Been lazy here recently... If you can take a fiber supplement and it won't hurt you I would recommend let me find it

This supplement is just 3 kinds of fiber with a little of the L. Acidpholus (not a lot)... and the FOS (Fructooligosaccharides) which is used as food for the good bacteria in the intestine...

Looks like they discontinued Colon Guard so if your looking for a good fiber pill that has other stuff in it then go with that one... It doesn't have any herbal laxatives or anything else like that...

Cascara Sagrada is generally the main herb used along with the fibers to clean the walls on the intestines that is found aloung with other things in the "colon cleansing" products... YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE A COLON CLEANSER.... You have a narrowing of the intestines somewhere I'm sure so taking something that pushes lots of fiber through your intestines quickly would be BAD VERY BAD... It may even put you in the hospital due to blockage bad... Either that or just give you SEVERE abdominal pain...

As long as you can take in fiber you should be okay with the above mentioned product... If you are having abdominal pain from getting in too much fiber then stay away from all high fiber products.... It's all dependent on you and how much narrowing you have in certain areas.... If you can eat oatmeal you can take the above product... If oatmeal would kill you then don't take the above product...

I hope this was clear... I'm in rant mode...

I'll try to check the forum every sunday/monday and maybe one other time in the week... I have a pretty busy schedule for someone that doesn't have an active adrenal gland atm...

This product is also mainly fiber... You don't really get a lot of the cleansing stuff in here but if you wanted a fiber plus a cleanser that shouldn't have a laxative affect then this would also be a good product..

Me personally I can't take the fiber supplements.... 2 Nutrigrain bars give me pain from the amount of fiber in them...

I take this and Triple Chlorophyl to keep me somewhat regular... Granted your poop will be green... Also the Triple Chlorophyl helps with saliva production and makes your breath smell.... Plant like... so if you have a dry mouth/bad breath problems it can help...

How much does that cost?

I have no problems with eating anything except popcorn as the kernals get stuck in my area, I know you don't want to know that.LOL

Thanks for the supplement guide

Wouldn't a colon cleanser be kind of harsh on the body? My doctor, before the colonoscopy, gave me the gentler version of the drink because he said the other would likely make me worse (of course I was in a pretty severe flare at the time). Wouldn't a colon cleanser be like having a huge dose of fiber and really irritate things? Just curious.

Generally speaking most colon cleansers are like that... That's why you should avoid them if you can not take a fiber supplement... If you can take in fiber ok then you could try something like the colon care or cleansing formula just to get in some of the extra dietary fiber you are lacking... Or you could just take a fiber pill... It just depends on what your looking for...
