(for those that remember me!)

I am still suffering with the extreme tiredness, pins and needles etc. I finally got a doctor to listen and not just write it off as depression/ Crohn's/ unexplainable, he said it was some sort of peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) and he referred me to a neurologist. The neuro thinks I am suffering some sort of post viral inflammation of the nerves (from the virus I had 18 months ago that kick-started the Crohn's). He wants to know where exactly the problem lies, so I am going on Saturday to have the nerves in my hands and feet tested, and in a few weeks for an mri of my head and spine. These tests seem pretty easy in comparison to a colonoscopy!

So happy to hear they are hearing you! I hope the tests and treatment can make you feel better. And YES, it sure sounds easier than a colonscopy!!

Remember? Of course we remember!......I was looking through the wiki a couple of days ago and was thinking I hadn't seen you around for quite a while...:(

I'm sorry to hear that you have been having problems. I hope the tests go well hun and give you some solid answers...:goodluck:

Now I've just gotta ask...pins and needles, extreme tiredness...Your B12 levels are okay are they?

Missed ya...
Dusty. xxxxxxxx

Thanks, everyone!

Yeah, b12 levels are fine, they tested my bloods a couple of times and just to be sure I tried taking 2000mcg a day sublingually, with no improvements. They also ruled out anaemia, thyroid problems and diabetes before concluding that I must be depressed!

Hey Rebecca, glad to see you around the forum again. I hope they can figure out what's causing your troubles and get you to feeling better again. And yeah, any test that doesn't involve prep or barium is a good one in my book! Good luck with the testing.

Well I had the nerve tests today. One test involved stimulating my sensory nerves and measuring how long it took for the impulse to travel up my arm or leg. Then they stimulated the nerves in my arms and legs and made my fingers and toes twitch. It was uncomfortable (ever put a battery on your tongue?). The testing guy wouldn't tell me anything about the results, they have to go to the neurologist to be interpreted. I should hear in 3-4 weeks.

Good luck Rebecca! You've been such a go-girl, I can't imagine you staying down for long!
