All manufactures have issues....just look at Toyota. It just a matter preference. Just like taste in music.

Agreed. Now a days there is less of a difference between the manufactures.

I have had Fords, Dodges, Chevs, Hyundais, Nissans, you name it. All have been great for me, but I know people who have had lemons with the exact same vehicle. I had a 97 Dakota, and my brother had a 99 Dakota. Same truck but I ran mine to 375,000 Km with litte more than regular maintenance. And as far as I know it is still going. But his was at 120,000Km and he had nothing but problems.

Out here Shaz, there was massive recall due to the accelerators sticking. Did that happen out in Kiwiland?

Yup, but I am not rich enough to have one of those new cars, so no problems for me :) Mine is about 15 years old. I think we keep our cars longer here than you lot do.

It's one of these:

1994.toyota.celica.10151-300x189.jpg

I like it :)

One of my best friends in high school had a Celica just like that! Great car!

And you are right people over here get rid of their cars WAY too soon. Everybody is afraid of high milage cars. But I love em. Ive ran vehicles past 500,000 Km!! And they were still great when I got rid of them. Its a shame we live in such a throw away society.

Our cold climate is part of the reason we can't keep cars as long as people in warmer parts of the world. Road salt and cars don't get along so well. Though a good car can last a long time.

Personally I'm a big fan of public transportation. I'd be happy if I never had to own a car.

I clicked and read, but now I can't remember what the thread was originally about LOL! Does this happen to you guys? We are such idiots.....

We always by used and run our cars into...the.....ground. I drove the Jeep Grand Cherokee my hubby had when we met for almost 15 years before it just started needing to many repairs to be reasonable. It was a third car though. I have a Yukon Denali XL that I drive as little as possible (environment and all) and have had it for 9+ years - and hubby's Acura is an 03. Ash's beetle bug is an 05. All used.....smart way to buy......

I hate Crohns. You never when you are actually sick or just having a bad Crohns day.

I can't agree on the Dodge thing. Bruce's whole family drives Dodges. My moms got a jeep, Bruce has a Caliber SRT4, I have a Caliber, Bruce's stepdad has a Dodge RAM (beautiful truck... no probs), grandpa has a Dodge truck.

I was always a Chevy girl because my dad works for GM, he has a Chevy Silverado and a Corvette, I used to drive a Cavalier... liked them all.

I will say I HATE Ford. And Ford (truck) drivers are typically assholes in my neck of the woods.
I drive a Ford F150, so your theory may be true ;)

Hey I prefaced it and said in my neck of the woods... plus you guys actually use trucks for their intended purpose in the south... here they are just compensatory items. ;)

LOL! That's funny, I don't understand owning a truck if you don't haul anything.

No Pen, blame me. I want to be the one to get the blame. Farm always gets to be blamed and its not fair!!!!!

Grrr don't ya hate bein invited too weddings an then told ya on the singles table at the reception here
what a fun nite that will be me an a bunch of 12yo's weeeee

I hate that I think I'm the only person at my job who can speak and write correctly (well, not to be pompous, but I encounter it in more places than work).

IT'S LEND, AND IT'S BORROW....THEY'RE NOT THE SAME FRIGGIN' INTERCHANGEABLE VERB. YOU LEND SOMEONE A BOOK, YOU DO NOT "BORROW THEM A BOOK"....YOU DO NOT TELL OUR CLIENTS AT WORK "WE BORROWED YOU THIS MONEY, NOW IT'S TIME TO PAY IT BACK, IF YOU BORROWED ME $10,000, WOULDN'T YOU CALL ME FOR IT?!"

SUCH GLARING GRAMMATICAL AND LINGUISTIC DEFICIENCIES!!

LEND. BORROW. LEND. BORROW. NOT. THE. SAME.

Am I asking that you know it's transitive and intransitive? No, but one "sounds wrong" doesn't it? I don't get how it can't. If it sounds right, then you need to be humiliated by attending another full year of 3rd grade. Take the Billy Madison treatment.

Morons

I WANT TO BE PAID ON A SCALE THAT HAS STRICT CORRELATION WITH ONES IQ. WE'RE ALL BROUGHT UP AS KIDS THAT THE IDIOTS IN LIFE WON'T MAKE IT ANYWHERE. YET NOW AS ADULTS, MOST OF THEM ARE OUR BOSSES AND SUPERIORS OR WELL-OFF COLLEAGUES. HOW?! PAY US ON OUR INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY! LIFE WOULD BE SO MUCH MORE FAIR!!!

IT'S YOU'RE, NOT YOUR, IT'S EXCEPT AND ACCEPT, IT'S EFFECT AND AFFECT! IT'S WASTE AND WAIST!

WE LEARNED 4 + 4 IN GRADE SCHOOL, AND MOST OF US DIDN'T FORGET IT'S 8 (I HOPE). HOW IS IT THAT CONJUNCTIONS AND RUDIMENTARY GRAMMAR/SYNTAX IS NOW CONSIDERED "SEMANTICS" AND ONLY USED BY ANAL RETENTIVE PEOPLE? SURE, I GUESS IT IS NOW, AND 4 + 4 IS ONLY 8 ACCORDING TO A-HOLES AND STICKLERS AS WELL.

IT'S NOT THAT HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Benson, I hear ya!!
I donno if it was my mom always correcting us that has rubbed off on me but, when people speak, it takes all I can to not correct them. If they are friends, I call them out right away. Im no master of the english language, by any means and I know I make a ton of mistakes too, but some are just rediculous!! The ones you mentioned, I havent heard yet, but would bug me as well, and I would probably call them on it. Some people think Im an a-hole because I dont let people get away with being stupid.

Yeah, nobody here so much, it was at my job. A top performing colleague had to take over an account of mine (per policy, a specific situation) and I overheard the phone call. She said "borrowed" about 8 times in place of the words lend or lent. She even asked if they had "someone who could borrow you" the money to keep an account on the books. Can someone borrow you the money? We borrowed you $20K now it's time to think about how to pay it back? That's what set me off.

When I find mistakes in our internal-online policy literature, blatant errors that spell check would find, it's out of hand.

It wasn't directed at anyone or any recent observations here. Heck, my fiancee says "your" at many times when she means "you're"...it's typed phonetically so I get the gist, and even I slip up. I just feel it's very rampant as a whole in parts of society that should NOT let it slide (a professional financial environment?)...at least here people can kick back, and it's a place to relax (though I still notice the errors, it's just that that's not the intent of the forum here, nor is it a demand, although basic coherency should still exist, in case nobody understands the question/comment).

I'm sure we all have bosses with double digit IQ's, who have jobs that we could probably do better than them. It just frustrates me that I know of people in real life making 6 figures who even when the try, can't spell or add to save their life. I find that repulsive, and as I said, unfair. We're just brought up to be smart and apply ourselves, and that will make us successful, but then our immune systems come along and strip us of that. Now I'm just ranting again...sorry. :)

OMG BWS,you should start a thread for that! I feel the same way-lol.
My personal peeves include:
When a person says "How Come?"-The word you're looking for is "Why?"
I really can't stand it when someone says extraordinary like extra-ordinary. So, it not just regular ordinary, it's EXTRA ordinary. GRRR.
O.K. end of rant.:ybatty:

Yeah grammar gets me... like borrow instead of lend, but I can spell just not on here for some darn reason :ylol2:

newly diagnosed adult daughter

I am so concerned about my daughter just diagnosed with Crohn's following endoscope, colonoscopy, CT scan, barium follow through, labs . Severe stricture terminal ileum, on prednisone 40mgm every time decrease to 30 mgm she has severe flare . Starting Cimzia this week . Anyone here on this med or have taken this med? Results? So difficult to see her in such pain and my inability to ease it. I hate this disease for her!

Worriedmom, first welcome to the forum. I can't imagine how hard it is to not be able to take away the pain from CD. Just being the best support person and educating yourself to be able to help her will be the best thing for her.

Good luck

That's an awesome rant Benson! I think I write something similar but shorter than that once a week on facebook. I get SO sick and tired of seeing words spelled incorrectly!

By the way - I think you are missing an apostrophe in "ONE'S IQ". =p

I agree with the others WorriedMom. Start a new thread in the 'My Story' forum, and you'll get a more proper welcome.
Cimzia is newer, so there aren't a lot of people on the forum who are on it, but if you use the search option here, you might find some info about it.
Cimzia is somewhat similar to Remicade and Humira, and there are MANY of us who are on those or have taken those.
Sorry that you have to be here, but welcome to the forum!

Wow, I just found out my Gi's secretary is getting laid off after 34 years!!!! The last girl was a ding dong and screwed up (when she was on holidays)...:voodoo:

Next will be my Gi retiring (in his 70's) and my Gp has 2 bouts of Colon Cancer... sucks.

Oooh Pen!!
I cant even imagine having to switch docs and try to explain everything and try to build that relationship again.
Are there any other decent GI's around once he does retire?

I dont know Brian, I know there are one or two more in the same clinic but they are overloaded too. As for a new GP, I only got one in the first place because my husband's company doctor is my GP, others in Thunder bay who been born and raised her dont have one. :eek2: There are lots of clinics but youl like to keep everything in one spot. My first Gi and this one now out of 5-6 are the only ones who are experienced enough. Then there is politics with my GP clinic because he doesnt work in the hospital, and they have their own GP's for the hospital. I DONT care about the politics, I just want to have someone I know I can trust and have the knowledge. As long as I have a Gi, that is important. I guess not too many upcoming young doctors want to look up peoples a$$ for a living, I cant imagine doing that and then go for lunch :eek2: . Trying not to worry, looking after my self and my sprained foot. :ybatty:

Ok so it's evening here, my worst time of the day for my flare that and early mornings

anyway the bloody water works morons hav decided too do maintenance on my streets water supply
soooo guess what - no friggan water
luckily I filled the bath with water
so now I gotta bucket water too my loo too flush it! Grrrr!
Gonna be a looooooooong nite

Oh Rob, that sucks! We used to have problems like that with the storms we got and had no heat, hydro, for a few times when we moved here, I got my hubby to install a generator.... never again. Not fun to flush your toilet a million times a day putting water in the commode.

Stupid freaking fracking hubby talking to a coworker before work this morning woke me up at 4:30am, and now i can't go back to sleep. Blargh.
