recently diagnosed, what next?

Recently diagnosed with crohns. I lost my job four years ago on account of constant flare ups. I get hives, eczema , and skin rashes that become aggravated with alot of different foods. I havent been able to get a job, or move on to college. This condition has de-railed my life, and I dont know how to move forward at this point. Im happy to know whats wrong, finally. Im glad im not alone.

mr apricot;

I share with your situation and can relate completely. its a horrible disease. I to have lost many jobs due to flare ups and hospital stays; dealing with the daily pains and attributes of chrons is very difficult. I wish i had an answer for you but I do not really other than you are not alone and I give you a big virtual hug. and know I do care. my best advise is to take things day by day. remember to breathe now and then. my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry and all I can really say is I know; I know.
I know it doesnt help much but I care.

Hello :)

How recently were you diagnosed? There are people on here with masses more experience of the disease and drugs than me. It may help to say what treatment you are on for people to be able to give you some more advice and suggestions.

Thanks for your message Glen. After going online and reading other peoples stories about battling this, I have started to calm down a bit. Its horrible for people to deal with this.Glen, I have also had a relationship ended on account of illness. I left her because I knew something was deeply wrong with me, and I didnt want to be a burden to her.At that time,the depression,anxiety, insomnia, weight loss , and panic attacks made no sense to me. People around me started to suspect that I was on pills, crack or meth.Even my own family, and friends started to get ideas. Im not on any treatment right now.

Hello and welcome to the forum, I am really pleased you have joined as there is lot of helpful advice and support here from a really great bunch of people - I think it definetly helps to know you are not along and when you are having a bad day we 'get it'. As you are not on meds at the moment can I assume you are waiting for a follow up appt with the GI to discuss a treatment plan?

I will keep my fingers crossed that you can be feeling better soon :hug:

Hi mr apricot and welcome :)

Since you know foods aggravate you a lot, have you by chance tried an elemental/enteral diet and then an elimination diet to really get to the root of what specific foods give you trouble?

I'm glad you joined and look forward to seeing you around the community. All my best to you bud.
