Hello,

As I've started my third decade with Crohn's disease I've begun to have clear mucous discharge from my anus. I don't see mucous in bowel movement. It's mostly uncomfortable (anus gets irritated) and I'm self-conscious.

I'm wondering if anyone has had success dealing with this. For instance do enemas help?

I too and in my third decade of diagnosis, and am having the same problem.
I have a colonoscopy on Tuesday. I will let you know what the Dr says. Annoying to say the least

He said he didn't find any evidence of active disease, so he not sure about the mucus, cramping, diarrhea or joint pain.

I am pretty sure there is not a lot more I can handle right now, my life is a *&%$ show right now and feeling like I am begging for medical care is not helping. Between my husbands diagnosis last month, pancreatic cancer, Liberty Mutual screwing up my disability Ins I am done!!

I've eliminated a lot of these symptoms by reducing sugar in my diet. When i have sugar my fistula's, gas, and mucous increase. Some of which also increas pain. My joints also feel better with no sugar.

I'm a sugar addict so i do slip up sometimes, which has only corroborated my theory.

Good luck.
