I have been suffering with diarrhoea for 2 1/2 days now, due to a tummy bug. Now it feels like I gotta go ALL the time. It's hard to explain, but I feel like I gotta go even while I'm going! The best I can describe it is like a pressure in my rectum. Any ideas what it is?

Oh and twice now I have had a small amount (maybe a few drops, that's all) of bright red blood mixed in with my stool. Once was tonight, once was the night before and there was no sign of blood between times. Should I be concerned?

yes i get this all the time, you know you dont need to go yet it feels like you do. My crohns is mainly about as far in as a predfoam stick goes in. I find anything that hits this area (poo, diareaha etc) makes me want to go, when its really bad the pain is unbelieveable (normally making me poo there and then).
Ive had bleeding for the last 4yrs pretty much every day. Doesnt hurt so not too bothered with it. Predfoam should help with it, maybe pentasa suppositories as well (didnt find it made a difference to me tho)

Rebecca when was your last exam? If it is uncommon for you, I think you should at least phone your GI about it.

I have a few hemmies and they give me that sensation when they are acting up. I have two outside and some inside...it sucks and I hope you feel better soon

Last time I went to the GI was a few months ago, but he said I was in remission so doesn't want to see me for a few more months. I will contact my IBD nurse and let her know what is going on. I did speak to my GP when the diarrhoea first started, and they didn't want to know unless it continued for more than a week. I relented last night and took some cocodamol (1000mg paracetamol and 16mg codeine). It helped dull the pressure feeling and slowed the diarrhoea enough for me to get some sleep!

This has been an ongoing issue for me for months and is actually the only symptom I have at the moment. It is terribly difficult to explain, but a pressure feeling is the best way to describe it. I had a scope to investigate and it only showed VERY mild inflammation about 12cm in my rectum. My GI started me on Rowasa enemas, which almost made it worse. Then I upgraded to Cortisone enemas, which really made it worse. Since stopping, things are a little bit better, but the sensation is still there. It gets worse after a BM and sitting for too long. I just had a pelvic MRI last week and I am waiting to get my results.

It is very uncomfortable, and I hope it doesn't last for you too long. If it does, I would certainly follow up with your GI.
