I have a rector bag fistula and my surgeon does not want to touch this. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I had one, no surgery on it, was put on remicade finally (after having my daughter).....the remicade took care of them for me.

Have you tried any biologics to try to help heal them?

I have been on almost all biologics, I'm currently on symponi, they are changing me to tysabri until I could get in a trial in November

Have had a recto-vaginal fistula since 2010. Looked into surgical repair but the success rate is quite low. Since I am a senior citizen, I have decided not to have it repaired. It is extremely hard to live with this condition. But until a surgeon can give me a better than 20% chance of success, I choose not to put myself thru the trauma of surgery. I am currently on REMICADE which has a good record of healing fistulas, so far it has not done so for me.
I hope you have a happier outcome.
