I've had 4 infusions of Remicade now and within the past month or so I feel like I just keep getting more and more sick. It started with just headaches and now I'm always tired, I have a terrible cough, a stuffy nose and I wake up every night sweating. I don't know if these are all side effects of the Remicade or if it's something like a cold. My parents keep telling me to take over-the-counter sinus and allergy medications but it's not getting better. It's just getting annoying now!

Remicade weakens our immune system, so it can take our body longer to fight off many viruses and bacteria. If you have a persistent cough that lasts more than 2 weeks with lots of green phlegm, I would recommend seeing your doctor. My "cough" last winter ended up becoming pnemonia that needed to be treated with 8 days of intravenous antibiotics. It turned out to be caused by a bacteria that usually only affects children since most adult immune systems are able to fight it off.

:welcome: Taylor, glad you came here and seeked us out. I would say as Davidr has mentioned you should see your doctor about it because of the Remicade. Some cases the doctor may stop the infusions. Sounds like a flu but best to get it checked out. Keep us posted ok?
