well like i said in my intro to the site im new here and was wondering if anyone has also taken remicade and it stop working for them and my main concern is has anyone switched from it to cimzia? and what kind of results did you get, bc this is my last option besides surgery which im really really trying to stay away from.....any post would be much appreciated

I am currently on Crohns and have been moved from 8 weeks to 6 weeks, I am feeling great, alot better than I have ever felt, but when we did my colonoscopy i found out that I had a blockage and I was flaring, so I'm not sure if it is working or just covering up the pain.

yea thats what i was on 6 weeks and double dose, but it just stopped working on me again so now my options are very few now not a good sign

I did not have Remicade fail me (yet) it is working very well.
But I did have Humira fail me after 4 months, and people told me that Remicade was too similar and if Humira didn't work anymore, then neither would Remicade. 2 years later, it's still working.

Have you tried Humira? I would not hesitate to give the Cimzia a try.
Good luck, I hope it works for you.

yea ive tryed humira i started out regular dose remicade couple of years ago and my body grew anti-bodies against it so it stopped working then i tryed humira and with a colonoscopy it showed humira did nothing it got worse, so eventually my doc started me on double dose and at every 6 weeks and that has been my power house med for 2 years and i just went for an infusion the other day and my cedrates test was high so he said the remicade has failed me again so its either cimzia or possibly surgery and i dont want that, ive tryed every option available so far but cimzia

I just recently switched from Remicade to Cimzia. I was on a double dose of Remicade every 6 weeks and though I felt ok, I was still inflamed and was really only getting about 2-3 really good weeks after an infusion. I switched to Cimzia at the end of February and have just finished the induction period. I've also started taking 100mg of Imuran. So far, this combination seems to be working for me, but it hasn't been very long. The big test will be late spring, which is when I usually flare.

im on imuran now 75mg its glad to hear someone has the same story as i do and hopefully this works for me as it is doing for you i go for a colonoscopy soon then my doc is going to make the desicion about what to do next

update on situation, well i went to have my colonoscopy today turns out things looked good doc said just must have been stress that had my ced rates level up so i do get to go back on remicade thank goodness, and he did a biopsy on my large intestine still waiting results from that......but anyway thats the upda
