Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and still feel pretty new to dealing with crohn's, even though I have had it for a few years.

I was diagnosed a few years ago with mild crohn's based off of a colonoscopy. I went on asacol and entocort which got me into what seemed like remission. I tapered off the entocort and wound up stopping the asacol because I was in what seemed like remission and felt great, my doctor then also made it seem so mild I didn't take it too seriously. Now fast forward about two years and I have been having some more crampy pain but overall have still been feeling okay for the most part. Decided to go to a new GI doctor who said he wanted to do a capsule endocsopy instead of a colonscopy so he can get a look at the whole small intestine. Turns out I have ulcerations throughout the ileum and terminal ileum.

So now he gave me the option of either cimzia, 6mp, and remicade and I have no clue what to do. The side effects of 6mp scare me and the idea of injecting myself or getting infusions also scares me. Especially since I have been feeling okay. I don't wanna go on a medication that will make my quality of life worse than it is now, but my doctor said if I don't do something it will get worse and my symptoms will likely get worse. I am on entocort until I go back to see him again in a few weeks. Anyone have any experience with any of these drugs with any insight? I would really appreciate it

DS has been on 6-mp and remicade but not cimzia.
He was dx at 7 and is now 10.
6-mp did very little for him at all.
Remicade by far was the easiest .
Once the loading dose was done only meds every 6-8 weeks
Infusion centers are cushy abd relaxing
Get the Gi visits and bloodwork at the same time

Good luck
