I had about a foot of small bowel removed on April 28 with a lap procedure. I hurt but not too bad. Other than being nauseated every morning since the day of surgery, I'm tolerating a low fiber diet okay.
I'm wishing I'd had the surgery done six months ago when it was first recommended. I'm wishing when the first CT scan almost a year ago showed the swollen lymph nodes and soft tissue mass in the mesentary, that ANY of the follow-up tests had been consistent with those findings - but nothing was.
This is a cautionary tale for others out there to not over think what your doctor is telling you, but don't believe everything at face value either. I'm so glad I didn't blindly start taking the Crohn's meds.
All 32 lymph nodes that were removed, plus the section of small bowel contain follicular lymphoma.
I have cancer - not Crohn's.
