Right side gurgles, right side ache

I hate to ask this, but I'm still trying to get to the bottom (lol?) of this, and I'm seeing my GP tomorrow to start getting things sorted. I made a list of symptoms that have remained unchanged for two months now, and had happened before that. Those are:

- right side dull ache, lower quadrant, intermittent but daily; does not abate with BM
- right side gurgling in area of pain, very often after eating, sometimes in the morning
- normal temp has gone from 99.6 (for many years) to 100.6 day in and day out without a break
- BMs are always loose, orangish, and unpleasant

It doesn't really get worse, but it doesn't get better. I thought it was gallstones, but I can pinpoint the location of pain, and it's not near my gallbladder at all.

Has anyone else had the localized gurgling? It's impossible to find stories like mine on Google or anywhere for IBS (my original diagnosis). It's just that one side. I'm BEYOND frustrated and sick of worrying, and it's going to take a while to get tests. If I go in there more or less convinced this is early Crohn's, I think they'll put a rush on it.

Yes, I have the same on the righ side gurgling but I also have bloat and dull pain. Most times the worst is after 4pm. Having a list is a good idea, because we all forget and somehow pain ceases when when are in the doctors office..ever notice that?

I do too have pain in the low right quadrant with pulse. It always annoys me at night and sometimes I cannot sleep becauses of it. I take crohn's meds based on symptoms and not diagnosis.
I do agree with Pen that pain disappears at the doctors and that keeping a list will remind you of all the points you want to discuss.

Hah, that has definitely happened before. Morelike I'd have pain that could normally be reproduced through some pressing, then nothing at all would happen while there. FAH. Very frustrating.

I've noticed the afternoon pain thing, too. I usually wake up with it almost completely absent, or totally gone. I get the bloat on that side, too, and it feels like a hard, gurgling sausage I can roll around. What's sort of throwing me off is when the pain is *occasionally* on the left, so are the gurgles, and the right pain has gone by then. 98% of the time it's on the right, though. ?!?!?!

My risk for Crohn's from my dad, my 'fever,' my one day of unexplained left arm hives (I have never had anything like that), all lead me to think it's slowly grinding away at my ileum. I can't see any other cause for it just staying in that pinpoint right side location. I'm afraid it's so high up they won't see it on a colonoscopy.

Which meds are you on? I'm assuming your doctors are convinced of your condition without the test measures as of yet?

I have occassional cramping on the left just before a bm. In the morning, once I go , it is ok... I have a spastic colon too and hard to differenciate. (sp) I also use Dicyclomine for the spasms but not often. The after 4pm is pain from breakfast I guess and it doesnt matter what i eat lately.

HMMM...I have dicyclomine but I've yet to take it. My old gastro seemed to think the right side stuff was IBS related, as well. As in, my colon was spasming and holding gas in that area until it ached, cramped and swelled. It's so frustrating that the two are similar in that they favour the right side.

I still have an old x-ray that shows my ascending colon was filled with gas, and no one knew why. Friggin' annoying guts. I have a feeling I'll have to wait for it to get worse before anything begins to show up, but here's hoping.

Unless you have something that will cause xray absorption there, and xray generally won't show the problem other than largely dilated bowels due to gas. Please note I am not a doctor, but this (and the gurgling - in my case I was able to determine based on passing gas that it was indeed caused by trapped gas) would suggest to me an inflammation that is restricting flow. Please do mention it, mention that it is persistent. Crohn's often is first present at the junction of the small and large bowels in the lower right quadrant. I would think you need a scope or a barium exam of some sort. Please don't ignore it.

As for the symptoms disappearing in the doctor's office, I always used to joke that my bowels seemed afraid of my GI doctor. They always seemed to improve during an office visit.
