Anyone know what this means.. Satisfactory is what I have been told this morning...err

I know last time I had a flare, iron was low but otherwise everything was fine... now I am really confused!!

Anyone shed some light??

Got no chance of getting any help now from the GP.. getting so frustrated!! no gastro appointments until 2011 either, without something being low it wont be referred as an urgent case.

Any help desiphering NHS speak would be much appriciated!!

xx

This is shocking and appaling!! No appts til 2011, where are we? The third world!
Phone PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Services) tell them what's happening, they will speed things up, and possibly get your GP to do an urgent referral based on your lack of appetite, milk it, tell them you're dying!
Bloods can come back normal. It means diddly squat!
What you need is a specialist, so phone PALS, sometimes they even get you a new GP, this is what they did for me, and my new GP is smashing!
good luck
xxxx

Satisfactory to me would mean that maybe there's a couple of things that are borderline or even a teeny bit high or low but nothing to worry about 'cause they could be normal next time they draw blood. They will most likely just keep an eye on those levels. You could always ask for a copy of your results and see for yourself.

Dusty. :)

hmm.. I will ask to see them and write down all the figures on Thursday

So fed up right now.. basically I look fine so I am fine.. or my bloods okay-ish so I am fine..

dont know what else to do!

Thanks for your help Dusty & Joan - will ring PALS

Yup, what Joan said. My bloods were okay or borderline and yet I had an awfy lot of inflammation throughout my colon and terminal ileum.

Worth thinking about if you can see a gastroenterologist privately, even if you dont have bupa/etc. First appointment is usually the expensive one, about 150 - 200ukp....

Thanks guys

Will ask for him to print me a copy of the results if possible

I wish I hadnt cancelled my PPP cover now!! cant stretch to paying again for it

Going to have to go in there all guns blazing Thursday!!

Yes, maybe a poor term but I take it to mean it's not perfect but it will pass, and yes maybe you do have a few a little close to borderline but some doctors just don't take the time to explain unless it's clearly under. Welcome to crohn's world.

I am sure he will go through it with me in the morning

Just annoyinng that they are still so good after 5 weeks!!! Going to be a long 4 months till my gastro appointment

Thanks for all the support guys

I am with Joan on this way, that is just shocking appt until 2011 that isn't acceptable. I would def milk it and say you can't handle it bla bla that is the only way they will listen sometimes. It shouldn't be that way xx
