Ok so I am 20 year-old girl who is being tested for Crohn's because I've been having abdominal pain. I had the same kind of pain when I was 17 and they found inflammation. I was okay for 3 1/2 years until now. This time around the pain lasted for over a month and I had to go to the ER twice because it was so bad. They gave me a CT scan and again found inflammation and prescribed antibiotics. The doctors say they're leaning towards Crohn's and I've been going crazy looking up all sorts of things on the internet (which I know I shouldn't do) and some of the symptoms describe what I have like: constipation, indigestion, bloating, and pain. I also read that a not so common symptom is sweating at night and recently I've woken up sweaty - that's what truly worried me. I know I shouldn't try to diagnose myself but I'm just really worried and if I have it I want to prevent the symptoms from getting worse. I have to get a colonoscopy in about a week so hopefully they are able to diagnose my problem. I just needed to vent because I've never been so stressed before in my life. If it's one thing people should be thankful for, it's their health.

Any advice is welcome, I'm in desperate need of it.

I just want everything to be okay.

:heart:Welcome and glad that you made in onto this forum. I relate to your stress, fear and frustration, as I had that right before I was diagnosed with Crohn's, a year ago. I take a sulfa-based Rx which works very well for me. Some days I still feel very angry that this happened to me but I have to be grateful for places such as this where I can give and receive support. The best I can tell you is wait and see what the tests results are and take it from there. Personally, I don't think that fishing around on the Web for info is such a bad idea, especially given the lack of information that medical practitioners provide for us; just don't get crazy with all of the data you will find. I think that this Forum is one of the best places to go because all of its members and/or someone they are close to have had personal experience with IBD . Take it easy and you will be in my prayers.

Hello and welcome to the forum, you have come to the right place for helpful info and support. Definetly check out our undiagnosised sub forum as there will be others here going through the same concerns and worry leading up to potential diagnosis: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75. One thing that may help with symptoms is looking at a low residue diet or at least following a low fat/low fibre diet if you are not already, have you kept a food diary of foods that aggrivate more than others? If not this may be worth looking at.

I hope things go well for you next week, please let us know on how you get on.

Hey there! Welcome to the community :)

It's quite understandable that you're scared. It sounds like your doctors are on top of things though. Let's hope that it doesn't end up being Crohn's Disease but if it does, we're of course here for you.

I wish you all the best.

*hugs*
