Let me start off by saying I'm not looking for someone to say if I do or don't have Crohns. I would like to share my story to see if anyone here can relate to me.

17 or 18 years ago I had a very sever attack of diarrhea that was very painful and ultimately left me passed out on the bathroom floor. I didn't think much of it other than a fluke and thought maybe I ate something bad. I didn't have a reocurance for quite sometime. I have had several severe attacks since about 2005. 75% of the time they hit me at night. I will wake up to my stomach churning and hurting. I will go to the bathroom and have the worst diarrhea anyone can imagine with severe stomach pains and horrible burning sensation. I have only passed out a couple of times and I've gotten hives at least on 3 occasions. I truly feel like I could die when it happens. I went to my doctor and became serious about figuring it out in 2013. I was sent to a gastroenterologist he done bloodwork for celiac and an endoscopy and colonoscopy. All came back normal. Is that enough testing to rule out IBD? I know the doctors main focus was celiac. I gave up after it came back normal and decided it's something I'm just going to have to deal with. I'm at the point now where I can not keep living through it. The severe attacks can happen as little as 1 time a year or 3 times a month. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I know my c reactive protein is high. My doctor ran some tests last year for the all over body aches I have. He ruled out rheumatoid arthritis but did an X-ray on my hip that bothers me the most and it came back with arthritis. I'm only 38. I have been suffering daily headaches and beginning to wonder if there is a connection. I feel like I'm going crazy and absolutely dread going to the doctor to look into all this further. Any advice or support would be apreciated. Thank you!

Hi. There are a group of people in the forum who have been Undiagnosed for years. In fact, there is a support group in here specifically for those who are undiagnosed. I am not sure of all the tests but I think there are other tests that can be done. Ask your gastroenterologist. Let us know.

Thank you I'll look for that group. I'm going to be looking for a different doctor. The one I saw 5 years ago was hard to communicate with. I hope to find someone who is easy to talk to.

If you think something is wrong don't take no for an answer! You know your body best and you need to trust your "gut"!
