So, Im schedule for surgery next Friday and I cant wait. Seems as the days go, things get worst. A few weeks ago I noticed a wierd lumpy feeling mass on my right side, right below my rib cage...it kinda runs into my back. I figured it was just a backed up intestine or something, but its changing for the worst! Its now HARD as a rock and feels like a small lime, its clearly a lump of some sort and hurts really bad. I dont want to call GI or surgeon as they cant do anything in the meantime. So Im wondering have any of you experienced this type of thing before. It seems to be more in my back, above my kidney, but really hurts and is causing me to become more anxious and worried. Im just so over it already, and really have had more than enough of this crap:eek2:

I spoke to my boyfriend about it who's had pain there before and it could be your gall bladder or maybe an impaction. Basically swelling and getting harder isn't a good thing and needs to be looked at right away. Even if you are having surgery soon, your doctors need to be made aware of what's happening to you now which could result in you having your surgery sooner. Going to the emergency room could help you find out what's wrong and will let you know if you need surgery right away or not. There's no reason for you to be in that much pain. Seek medical help right away.

I agree it could be your gallbladder. Another thing to consider but I'm not sure if the hard lump fits with this is...when Roo's ileum was so inflamed, and if I remember correctly your ileum is affected and has an appearance like Roo's did, it block her right ureter and her kidney became swollen causing extreme pain in that area. Either way as Crabby said, seek medical help now.

I went to my GP this morning and she doesnt know what to do....she gave me more meds for nausea and pain, and sent me on my way. She said if things got too bad that I would need to go to the hospita....but she didnt seem to think it was anything to worry about....so, here I am home, dosed up on pain meds, tired as hell and wondering what this weekend is going to bring for me. Pain meds only do so much, hopefully I can make it thru til next Friday, seems soooo far away, especially if Im going to feel like this for the next week....ugh~

Have you talk to a GI doc or just your GP? GPs are great but I know mine at least sometime would look at me and say "I don't know" and kind of shrug while I got worse and worse. Please think about calling a GI doc.
Nothing other than poke and prod...she could feel the lumpy mass, but seems to think its inflamation from everything else going on. My GI is out of the office till Monday, I spoke to my surgeon and she said to keep up with the laxitives and that was all. I had a bm today for the first time in 5 days, and no relief. Tonight, Im noticing the pain is up higer now....who knows, if I start throwing up, Ill have to go to the ER....this is gona be one long week
).Thanks guys, things are still yucky today....not as bad as yesterday, just tryin to make it through the next week. I CANT possibly afford another ER visit, my pocket book is empty and Im behind on bills. If thigs get too bad, I will have to make that call, in the mean time I just keep taking my pills and praying things will be ok...Ill keep you updated on my situation. Thanks guys~
