Hi. Can I get some advice please. I have recently been told I have crohns and have a consultant appointment in two weeks time at the hospital. However I'm having a major flare up at the moment and the last 3 days have been in crippling pain more so than ever before. I don't know what to do. I haven't been given any medication yet as that is what is to be discussed in two weeks but I'm aching everywhere and keep going hot and cold... Needless to say also going to the loo a lot! !!... These new pains are excruciating and im doubling over. I'm not sure if I should ring my doctor tomorrow or the hospital?? Please can you offer some advice. Many thanks. Andrea

Doubling over from pain I always took as a very serious sign. The fact that you are still going to the loo says you aren't completely obstructed, but you could have a partial one going on and may need to go on bowel rest. I would recommend heading into the emergency department to get evaluated right now. Things can get bad really quickly if avoided, and they can be kept from much more serious complications if not avoided. Head in.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry you're in such pain. Definitely have it looked at. A lot of damage can occur in two weeks while you wait. :ghug:

:welcome: re previous replies, i agree go the the er or docs asap, 2 weeks is to long to wait in pain like that love..:ghug:

Welcome to the forum. I'll second what others have already said - go to A&E and they will give you something for the pain. They used to give me morphine when I was really bad a few years ago. Hang in there! (((hugs)))

Hi.

Sorry for late response. I called 111 on Sunday as pain became too much. An ambulance was sent and been in hospital since with my gastroenterologist keeping me in until the weekend whilst on steroids as bowel and colon severely inflamed. They have now said it's more likely to be colitis than crohns but may still need partial bowel removal if this continues :-(
Although not in anywhere near as much pain as a few days ago so something must be working. More ct scans, x rays and blood tests to go and more meds (feeling high most of the day!!) And then should get a definitive answer hopefully.

Thanks for the support.

Andrea x
