severe stomach pain....need relief

in the last few days i have had severe stomach pain in my lower right abdomen. This is the first time this happens to me. Usually i have pain right underneath my belly button but last night was the worst pain i've ever felt in my life. I should've went to the hospital but it's not an easy trip for me because i live about four hours away from my doctor. The pain started in my right lower abdomen then started going through my back. What i want to know is how others deal with the pain...are there any pain relievers that i can use right at home...i have tried a heating pad, pain meds, a hot bath but none of these really work for very long. If anyone has any ideas that they use at home that works for them...can you please share because i'm desperate and it would be so appreciated...thanks

Hi and welcome. :) I'm sorry about your pain. Do you still have your appendix?

If you take pain meds, just be sure that you're not taking any NSAIDS like naproxin, ibuprofen, or aspirin. Only take acetaminophen like Tylenol.

If your pain is really bad, it would certainly be worth a 4 hour trip to the hospital, in my opinion. I just took a 9 hour drive yesterday, so I know what you mean. But you've gotta take care of you.

linder, on a scale of 1-10(10 being highest) where is it @ ? Are you still able to have BM's. If not you could be obstructing.
Really hope you get well soon
