Okay, long story short, i've been really poorly and in pain today. I'm kinda on the toilet now, so whilst i'm thinking about it, i'll ask the question.
I have shooting pains going down my side - not side of abdom, but side side of me. It hurts more if I push to .. well.. poo so I can't and I don't know why it's doing this or what?

I can't take any medications or pain killers as nothing helps that i've been given.. but.. is this normal? :S

Have you done any type of lifting or stretching using those muscles? If you pulled a muscle, you could have shooting pains, especially if you are bearing down while trying to do your business.

Not sure what else it could be, a pulled muscle is the first thing that comes to mind.

Hmm, well it appears to have gone away now. Other than a pulled muscle, it literally just came to mind that it could be from where i've been sleeping on the sofa and when i'm eventually asleep, I don't move for hours until I wake up again. So might be that - but anyway, it's stopped now luckily :) xx
