Sorry it's been so long. I've been battling a few things all at once. I was hoping to get to the point where I could do trial and error with my crohn's to see what I can and can't have with foods but, haven't been able to get that far.

I've been having this bug going around which seems to have effected my stomach and made me worse and I continue to have the sniffles. Every time I'm really hungary and after I eat I start belching and my stomach is so upset I don't feel good at all. Wouldn't be so bad, but nausea and headaches will come sometimes as well.

My husband and I are feeling like we're dealing with this all alone. I saw my GI on 3/22 in which all she was interested in treating me with was remicade injections which she admitted she wasn't sure if they would help me. But, once we start them I couldn't quit. Seems pretty expensive for something you're not sure if it'll work. Would like to get a second opinion, but the only GI would be in the same facility as my original DR.

Has anyone else gone through this same situation? Any ideas? My husband has mentioned my trying some of my left over pred but, I'm not so sure of playing around with steriods. I guess the easiest thing I can say is that I'm sick & tired of being sick & tired!

Here, here! I am so sick & tired of being sick & tired too! I just started Humira and I am keeping my fingers crossed it works! I hope you get some relief soon!

Thanks Carolhew:) I realized after I posted this that I messed up since today now is 3/22! The appt I had was on 2/22!!! Seems like the days after awhile all sort of run together. Hopefully this new med will help you soon.

Talked to my Pharmacist friend at work last evening. He thinks I may have a couple of things going on at once. But, needed to do some more researching. So, hopefully we might have some ideas as to what to do with me within a couple of days...

My pharmacist friend wasn't able to get the chance to find any info out for me (my store pharmacy is so busy). Been in so much pain and discomfort that I finally emailed my GI yesterday. Am waiting to see what she says. Will let you know what I find out.

Hi
I am also from Vancouver Washington...
I am fed up with being sick and not knowing anybody in the area that can relate to my problems with the Colitis.
If any one want to start a support group let me know...
I do have a stoma and have had several surgery's ....
Only people that have had this awful disease can understand what we have gone through and are still going through.

Eventually I started passing blood in the toilet and was turning the toilet bowl red. Doctor had previously put me on pred for the pain for a week which I was still on. Contacted her and basically she had me start tapering off the pred and increased my asacol dose. I'm not turning the bowl red every time now, but I still get some dull pain and discomfort after I eat. Needless to say, still plugging away...
