My biopsy results came back from my sigmoid and everything is normal...if everything is normal, why does it hurt? I don't know what to do anymore, I am so upset right now

I'm very sorry to hear that Kero :( I wish you had some answers. Has your doctor mentioned what your next step is in diagnosis/treatment?

Hello Kero
In a way we should be glad about negative results but it is not always the end of a story.
Your doctors should continue to investigate your symptoms and not just stop suddenly because of one negative result.
When you recover from being upset right now, start to think about what happens next.
Perhaps your family doctor can review the total picture of your condition and results of all tests you have had and come up with a plan for the future.
This is assuming that you have had a complete blood analysis work up., as well as other exploratory tests.
You don't mention any provisional diagnosis or history..
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

I have no diagnosis, this pain has been going on for 10 months now and not getting better, worse if anything. I have had ultrasounds, CT scans, bloodwork, stool samples, and nothing is showing up. I do have diverticulosis, but it's not inflamed according to the sigmoidoscopy. I won't be going back to see this particular GI because this was done on an outpatient basis. I have an appointment with another GI at the end of the month, hoping she can help me and not just brush me off because of the negative biopsies

Your plan sounds good and hopefully a new GI will be more helpful to you.
I just changed my GI, previously the first GI said my symptoms were due to Crohn's and that the extensive diverticular disease I have was not playing any role in my symptoms.
Although treated for crohn's some of my symptoms were getting worse.
I changed to a new GI who has found the diverticular disease is causing a major problem for me and has started to treat it.
Yesterday I had upper endoscopy and colonoscopy and now surgery is being scheduled for a tumour removal from the large intestine. At this time he treated the esophageal stricture he found and removed two polyps from the intestine., as well as multiple biopsies.
I had been seeing the first GI at 2 month intervals.
One consult with the second GI has revealed all of this and dealt with multiple issues..
Certainly pays to get another opinion.
Needless to say the second GI is the one I am staying with.
Feel better soon
Hugs

Kero! I'm so sorry. I totally understand how you feel. I wasn't diagnosed until this year...every year before that they gave me blood tests saying that it was an 'upset stomach'. Come to find out I have crohn's...when I got the call I was very upset...but I wasn't diagnosed for 14 years. I'm thinking of leaving my primary doctor just because of that. I hope you are feeling better!

Crohns & IBD can be so individualized - everyone seems to have different symptoms and problems. I'm so sorry you don't have any answers yet. I hope the new GI is more helpful.

It's awful to be brushed off especially when you know something is really wrong. I hope the new GI is compassionate and helpful in finding the answers.

I'm so sorry to hear you didn't get the answers you were hoping for :( . So many of us here can relate to the frustration of clear tests but unrelenting symptoms.

Keep pushing, you know what your body is telling you. You know when something doesn't feel right. So don't give up.
