Hi I've been having a lot of issues with my crohns lately I'm switching off remicade to cimzia and it's not taking well so I am also on steroids. So as you know it makes you have more of an appetite and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on healthy low calorie and preferably inexpensive snack and meal ideas. I'm kinda stuck on chicken breasts baked potato minus skin and Crackers with Carnation Ostend breakfast and Almond milk for breakfast and they're getting old very quick lol. Any ideas appreciated even recipes I love to cook and bake. Thank you :)

When I was on steroids, I just ate a bunch of small meals. I never had a traditional three meal plus snacks. For snacks and still today I tend to eat junk. Its what goes trough, yet not to fast for me. Do you have giant box store near you? Like a costco or sams club?. I have been eating a bunch of cheese and crackers for school snack, but I always have some type of candy. Ive been on an Ike and Mike run latley

Some of my favorite snacks that are yummy, healthy, and easy on the tummy (at least for me)... bananas or apples with almond butter, kale chips (super easy to make), avocado (not low calorie, but very healthy), hard boiled eggs, applesauce, gelatin made with 100% juice (no sugar), leftover cold chicken with mustard and cheese, homemade yogurt with honey, steamed baby carrots (hot or cold)...

I've also discovered that a lot of fruit is good cooked (which is also supposed to make it easier to digest). Baked apples, pears, peaches and nectarines...

Thanks I'll have to try some of thoes. Although I've found my tummy doesn't like apples maybe if I skin and bake them or would be better. :)
