Hi

Sorry I have been away for a little bit. Things have been tough. Sad times and one good!

I can say.....Take that Crohns!! This is what I have been working on part time over 2.5 years. I earned my Masters in Science in Mental Health Counseling. Yey I am a mental health counselor now!!! (I am not a working one because of health though :p)and I am happy to say even with hospital stays, incompletes that had to be made up, emergency room visits, not feeling well, and much more, it could not keep me away from this day! I graduated with high honors also!

Yes lol I cannot probably use the degree as I want at the moment due to my health but I accomplished getting to walk on this day. With only 2 hours sleep and not feeling well I managed to enjoy the day.

I have been away because everything that has been going on has been really hard on me. I am not feeling well. Thank goodness I have an appointment tomrrow with my doctor. I missed a few weeks. My little boy (dog) became very ill. He means the world to me. He is like my child. He developed blood clots that blocked the blood flow to his back legs. The specialty vet he was at near me did not do the therapy he needed. He needed an injection of TPA therapy to try to disolve the clot. I had to drive him a few hours away from home and I tried to stay near there for days. There were only 3 vets who did this within a 4 hour driving span of time. I found one that would take him a little over two hours away.

I then had to come back days later because a very close relative was really ill and my mother and I went over their house for a few days back and forth to be by his bedside and then he passed away. This has been really hard emotionally. He was our great uncle but was like a grandfather to my brother and myself.

I finally got to take my little guy (Rico) home last night. He is now napping by my side of which they did not think he would survive. He is still not out of danger but I am happy knowing I did everything possible to keep him with me. He seems to be in good spirits and as everyone has said for what he has been through, he is a tough little guy...A trooper!

I have not been feeling well at all. I am hoping for more help at the doctor tomorrow. I know I will be getting my iron infusions and hydration. I need more though than that and the meds I am on. I am not able to function.

I will try to be around here and there but need some more time. Between needing to sleep a lot, not feeling well, and taking care of my dog and everything else I am having a lot of trouble keeping up.

congratulations on your success and achievements ! :)

I hope you get to feeling better soon so you can enjoy it!
Take care and rest

Wow, congratulations! You should be VERY proud of yourself.

I am sorry about all that is going on in your life right now. I hope things turn around for you real soon. Hang in there, Jenn!

Hey Jenn!

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I hope you all can make piece with it soon.

I completely know how you feel about your dog! My mutt-butts Chuck and Penny are like my kids too. If they were ever sick or hurt I would be heartbroken. They are so sweet and innocent. We recently lost one of our dogs, Bravo who was a 14 year old Boston Terrier, and my husband still cries when he thinks about him. They have been palls since Jer was a teenager. It was like losing a very good friend. I hope your little guy is all healed up and feeling great soon!

Graduating from collage (2008? Time is getting away from me), is still my proudest achievement. Whenever this disease gets in my way, I always think about how hard it was to get through school while being so ill, and realizing that I actually made it through somehow! It is something that no one can ever take away from you, and you should be so proud!

Anyway, welcome back to the forum! I hope to see you around more and more, as your life permits. :)

Congrats on your achievement, that must have been incredible difficult, but you did it!

I'm am so sorry about your dog being ill! My last two major flares were in 2009 when 'my pad' Chase got ill. And last year in November when Chase my baby, my heart dog passed. Thats his picture on my avatar.

With that and a death in the family, you are pushing the stress level to maximum. You must feel better in order to help yourself and your dog, so please take good care of your health. Mental and physical. I wish you and your dog the best of health, and may you both have many happy years together still!

Hugs!
Misty
