sons wedding help

ok sons wedding on Sept. 24th not much time left. Just can't seem to get myself to the store for a dress nice enough for a wedding .!!! I really hate this how the hec am I going to hide two bags and I'm not the littlest thing around so wearing a dress thats to lose will make me look even fatter.

Ya know, I'm having parastomal hernia surgery on the 7th. I'm thinking....ACE BANDAGES!!!. Then you can leave a bit to keep the stomas out to be happy. Yeah, I know, they have this fancy stuff you can wear to squeeze, but with a bag...asking for trouble!!!

I'm thinking floaty chiffon for the wedding....in layers. Not fattening. Whatcha think??

Omg , my step son's wedding is on the 24th... different country lol. I too have struggled, my mother bought me an outfit when she was in Florida, gorgeous off white pant suit, and sparkly top... was reg $300 dollars and so marked down to $30 US... the pants were a bit tight, and thought I need to lose weight!!! Well, turns out I gained instead! So I called my mom and told her I can't wear the suit. I have to wear flats and no dress. Time is so near, my husband got a gorgeous suit , shirt and tie... all that fits me are the necklace and earrings. If I start tomorrow, maybe I can lose 15 lbs. I don't have bags, just under my eyes lol. What to do what to do.... We have to share pictures after the wedding lol. Good luck,,let us know how you make out!

I dont believe this my sons wedding is also Sept24th how weird is that. I joined weightwatchers in February to lose weight and managed to shift 2 and 1/2 stone but have hit a plateau now cant seem to shift anymore. I was stressing about an outfit but managed to find a lovely dress the only problem I have is shoes got a pair which felt so comfortable in the shop, and now I have them home they are the devils instruments of torture so will be taking a faithful old pair with me.
We will all have to post pictures and lets all hope for a lovely sunny day. The weather this summer has been horrible here so September should by law of averages be nice.

Braveheart, ya gotta be a guy. We mother's of the groom/bride all want to have a good time at the event...we just don't want to look like the mother of the groom/bride. My husband told me the same thing before our daughter got married. Relax and enjoy. Yeah, yeah. Easy for y'all to say: put a tux on and you are done! Just kidding with you here, Braveheart.

P I A 2: I hope you find an outfit that makes you look twenty pounds thinner, shows only your good side and costs only $10! And, you will have a wonderful time.

Wow! this is so funny ! Wonder what else is going on out there on the 24th :ylol: plus I don't know how much 2 and half stone is?

Fingers crossed you all find dresses to make you look and feel beautiful!

And yes, stay away from control tops or spanx! Those things will crush your stomas!!!

Good luck! - Amy

another idea what about a nice pants suit with a jacket to cover over it? Since my DVT several yrs. ago, I only wear pants with a nice pair of dress shoes. Oh, and the fact that I've had a few abdominal surgeries as well, I look for pants with a nice elastic waist band so if the bag gets full it expands easily unlike spandex which can cause it to burst.

Well, that's been my experience way back in the day. lol anyway, just find what makes you comfortable and enjoy the day. :thumleft:
