Hi everyone

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? I have terminal ileal Crohn's disease and lately my pain has been more constant and stronger. Tonight I've noticed that even just touching the right side of my stomach (putting hardly any pressure on), in the area where my inflammation is hurts. I've always suffered with pain around there but lately it's a lot more constant and worse after every meal. It's also uncomfortable to bend over and I'm finding I have to undo my trouser buttons, especially when I sit down because any pressure on my stomach is uncomfortable.

Could this be a possible sign of a partial blockage or just typical crohn's pains?

Hi Rose. Undoing my belt is a daily motion for me. I have had these symptoms for a long time now in the same area, and even with treatment (haven't found anything that works 100%, but close) it comes and goes. The pain you're describing is what sent me to the ER the first time and since treatment it's gotten a bit better. I don't know the answer to your question, unfortunately.
I'm still only 2 years into this but I'm leaning toward simple inflammation, but of course I'm worried about a narrowing or possible blockage. My CT showed no presence of a flare, yet the pain persists. I suggest, first, to call your doc and explain. A simple CT may show what you need to know, followed by a colonoscopy if necessary, which is what I'm requesting soon.
Until then, I just sag my pants like a real gangsta ;p Good luck and please report back with findings.

Thank you for your reply. I spoke to my specialist nurse who asked my consultant whether or not I will need another scan to see if I'm getting worse but he didn't want to. When I spoke to my nurse, she had a look at my small bowel MRI scan results (which I had done November 2014) and apparently it says I have chronic Crohn's in my small bowel which I wasn't aware of. I was always told by my consultant that my Crohn's is mild in my terminal ileum so I found this quite frustrating!

My pain has improved slightly since I last posted. However, last night I went out for a meal (I stupidly had 3 courses) and within a few hours I had thrown it all back up which I never normally do but that's the most I've eaten in a long time. I normally just eat little and often.

I'm starting on methotrexate this Wednesday so hopefully things will start to improve soon.

Good luck to you too! I hope the treatment continues to help you.
