starting a new study

with a drug called stelara. i've tried everything and nothing is working. i keep loosing weight everyday. my average weight used to be 120 and now i'm ranging between 108-110 and it keeps dropping every day. i'm stressed and my doctor told me that my crohn's is reaccuring in the same place the stricture was removed and stricturing again and that it has come back more aggressively.

There's been some good results coming out of trials with Stelara, for people with Crohns who've failed the other drugs. I hope you get improvement too. The illness activity often returns at the resection site....it's a bummer.

I took Stelara in Phase II of the study, and it worked like magic. No side effects. Unfortunately, I had no access to it after the study, but its been the only biologic that really worked consistently for me.

tishbite, I pray that Stelara is the answer for you. Please keep us updated as to how you do on it Is it one of those trials where you might be in the control group and getting a placebo or do you know for sure you're on it?

All the positive feedback is making me a little better about it. So thank you. I don't know of I will be receiving the placebo or real deal until week 6 and if I am not then at week six they will for sure put me on the real deal. It's weird and complicated but my GI doctor said I can come in for weekly iron/nausea & pain medication infusions through out the entire process to keep me going.
